![]() After his honorable discharge, Charlie continued his education at Creighton University and the University of Nebraska, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.He spent his career in telecommunications at AT&T followed by some independent consulting his career included international postings such as Iran and Thailand, but most of it was in New York City, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, where he met his wife Mary.Charlie and Mary retired more than twenty years ago to Lake County, Florida, ultimately building a beautiful home on the Palisades Golf Course in Clermont and enjoying many warm winters there. He was a Korean War veteran serving in the United States Navy as a radarman on the USS Manchester and USS Iowa, and also had duty in China and Japan. Charlie graduated high school from Creighton Prep. His fascination and interest in the written word continued throughout his life. This church embodied her view that the religious community should serve those most in need. She was an active member and served as Deacon for a number of years. A highlight in her life was her involvement with Christ Church Presbyterian of Burlington, Vermont. With her husband, Parnell, she co-chaired the United Way Fund Drive in Vermont for two years. She was always active in local flower arranging shows and served on the Vermont State Beautification Board. Throughout her life, she shared her design and decorating skills with many, including friends and family.
